Yarding: 8274 Change: +2309

With a large increase in numbers Roma Agents yarded 8,274 head 2,309 more than the previous sale.

All the regular processors feedlotters and backgrounders present.

Despite the quality offering prices continue to soften this was most notable in the secondary lines however the cows went against this trend to show an improvement.

Light weight yearling steers under 200kg topped 358c/kg. Yearling steers 200 to 280kg made from 202c to 398c/kg. Yearling steers 280 to 330kg sold firm and sold from 250c to 372c/kg. Yearling steers 330 to 400kg lost ground and made to 350c with the over 400kg selling to 338c/kg.

Light weight yearling heifers under 200kg improved in price and sold to 280c/kg. Yearling heifers 200 to 280kg made from 180c to 232c/kg. Yearling heifers 280 to 330kg sold to 298c to average 255c/kg. Yearling heifers 330 to 400kg with the majority selling from 190c to 294c/kg. Yearling heifers 400 to 480kg sold from 220c to 294c/kg to feed. Heifers over 480kg averaged 238c topping at 285c/kg.

Grown steers 400 to 500kg made to 230c/kg. Grown steers 500 to 600kg sold to 294c/kg to processors. Grown steers over 600kg made to 274c/kg to processor’s. Grown heifers over 540kg topped 256c/kg. Another offering of prime condition cows with score 3 selling to 248c and averaged 225c/kg. The 2 score cows selling from 110c to 205c/kg. Bulls under 450kg topping at 300c/kg. Bulls over 600kg made to 256c/kg.

Weaner steers under 200kg topped at 202c/kg and averaged 202c/kg, weaner steers in the 200-280kg range reached 398c/kg and averaged 329c/kg. Steers in the 280-330kg range reached 372c/kg and averaged 316c/kg, and steers in the 330-400kg range reached 350c/kg and averaged 320c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-500kg range topped at 338c/kg and averaged 312c/kg.

FI & MJ Taylor, Lying Downs, Injune sold Charolais cross steers to 376c/kg, reaching a top of $994 to average $855.

Gall & Co Pty Ltd, Glebe, Taroom sold Angus cross steers to 372c/kg, reaching a top of $1,498 to average $921.  The Angus heifers sold to 278c/kg, reaching a top of $1,110 to average $613.
