Our clients operate a family-owned progressive beef enterprise with a herd size of 8,000 to 9,000 head, primarily consisting of Santa Gertrudis crossed with Angus. The breeding segment includes 2,500 head, while the backgrounding segment manages 5,500 head.
The role of Senior Stationhand involves carrying out a variety of duties related to cattle production. This position requires you to be actively involved in all aspects of cattle husbandry including mustering and moving cattle, utilising two-wheel motorbikes, horses, and potentially your own well-trained working dogs. A key emphasis is placed on low-stress stock handling to ensure the well-being of the animals. You will be actively involved in all aspects of yard work including tasks such as drafting, processing, inducting steers, calf marking, weaning and supplement distribution.
