Yarding 5832 Change +3159
The return to fine weather over the supply area resulted in the number of cattle more than doubling the previous weeks level lifting by 3,159 head to 5,832. Understandably there were no cattle from far Western Queensland however 269 head from New South Wales were included in the lineup. The trend of cows and heifers dominating the selling pens continued. Export and feeder buyer attendance was good and all were operating along with a large panel of restockers.
Light weight yearling steers to restockers sold to a market over 20c/kg better. Medium and heavy weight yearling steers to feed sold to within a few cents of the previous sale. Light weight yearling heifers returning to the paddock averaged 10c/kg dearer. Yearling heifers to feed averaged close to firm however well bred lines improved in price. Export lines of heavy grown steers bullocks and cows could not maintain the high levels of the previous sale and lost 22c to 27c/kg.
Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock made to a top of 498c to average 467c/kg. The 280 to 330kg lines made to 476c to average 416c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged from 383c to 427c with the occasional sale to 456c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to 412c to average 377c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers to restockers made to the occasional 420c with most around 356c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed made to 386c to average from 333c to 337c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 340c and sold to 376c/kg.
Heavy grown steers made to 365c and bullocks made to the occasional 382c to average 361c/kg. Heavy grown heifers made to 350c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows averaged 263c and made to 267c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows averaged 283c and the best of the heavy weight cows made to 316c to average 302c/kg. Heavy weight bulls made to 332c/kg.

Numbers lifted today in Dalby following a weekend of clear sunny days. Lightweight Steers increased to approx. 20 cents & lightweight Heifers rising 10 cents on last week, however heavy Bullocks & Cows dropped 20 to 30 cents on last week.
