Roma store sale 9 July 2024: Dearer trend in larger offering

Yarding: 6530 Change: + 1322

The scattered showers in the supply area Roma Agents yarded 6530 head. All the regular processors feedlotters and backgrounders present and active. A quality yarding of weaners with heavy feeders and bullocks selling to a dearer trend also cows were in strong demand reaching the 300c/kg mark.

Light weight yearling steers under 200kg sold to 398c/kg. Yearling steers 200 to 280kg sold over 400c and selling to 408c/kg. Yearling steers 280 to 330kg almost 20c/kg stronger and sold from 310c to 388c/kg. Yearling steers 330 to 400kg also selling to a stronger demand and made to 364c/kg to restockers. Yearling steers 400 to 480kg topped 356c/kg. Yearling steers over 480kg made from 270c to a top of 320c/kg.

Light weight yearling heifers under 200kg topped 272c/kg. Yearling heifers 280 to 330kg with the majority selling from 220c to 292c/kg. Yearling heifers 330 to 400kg also improved in price and sold to 320c/kg. The 400 to 480kg heifers sold to 320c/kg. Yearling heifers over 480kg made to 314c/kg. Grown steers 500 to 600kg improved and sold to 294c/kg. Bullocks over 600kg sold from 296c to 310c/kg to processors. Grown heifers over 540kg made from169c to 288c/kg.

Another very good line up of well conditioned cows on offer and attracted very strong demand and reaching over the 300c/kg mark. The 2 score cows 400 to 520kg made from 120c to 211c/kg. The 3 score over 520kg sold very well topped 300c to average 263c/kg. Bulls under 450kg topped 300c bulls 450 to 600kg made to 290c/kg. Heavy bulls over 600kg made to 272c/kg.

Steers in the 280-330kg range reached 388c/kg and averaged 354c/kg, and steers in the 330-400kg range reached 370c/kg and averaged 348c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-500kg range topped at 366c/kg and averaged 337c/kg.

Derbyshire Downs Pastoral Co Pty Ltd, Derbyshire Downs, Augathella sold Charolais cross steers to 372c/kg, reaching a top of $1,464 to average $1,299.

Stinson Pastoral Co, Amby sold Angus cross steers to 370c/kg, reaching a top of $1,310 to average $1,218.  The Angus cross heifers sold to 282c/kg, reaching a top of $1,552 to average $875.
