Great Aussie Charity Cattle Drive fundraising off to a gallop

Beef Central 27/06/2024

An opportunity to “Adopt a Steer” or to join a leg of the 2025 Great Aussie Charity Cattle Drive on horseback, and in turn support the important work of the BeefBank Charity, is now available.

The Great Aussie Charity Cattle Drive will move 2000 steers from Longreach to Roma from May to August next year.

In the process the drive will help the homeless, food insecure and disadvantaged in major cities and towns by raising valuable funds for BeefBank which provides fresh meat to support community and welfare organisations through FoodBank.

The drive will offer an iconic outback experience and promote outback tourism and country towns as well as Australia’s world class beef industry.

A number of ways for individuals, companies and corporations to support the 2025 event have now been unveiled including:

“Adopt a steer”: Supporters can make a $1000 donation to “adopt a steer” for the duration of the drive, which they can then individually track for the duration of the drive. They will also

“Buy a saddle”: There is also a fantastic opportunity for supporters and their friends, families and colleagues to “Buy a Saddle” and live the life of a drover for three, five or seven day legs of the drive, riding with and camping out with the team.

Naming rights: A suite of agribusiness, corporate and community sponsorship and commercial partnership packages, including the naming rights to the eight separate legs of the drive between Longreach and Roma, to high profile concerts and a range of other activities, are now also available.

GACCD 25 organising committee member Roger Desailly said the unique outback event “offers something for all”.

Anyone interested in taking part and supporting the drive can visit https://www.charitycattledrive.au/ or call Event Operations Manager Chris Nott on 0433 182 398 to discuss in person.
